#1,097 Katie Zacharia: the Fondling Father's "Third K"

Kurt Franklin Stone #1,097 Katie Zacharia: The Fondling Father's "Third K"

              Presidential Press Sec. Katie Zacaria

On March 4, 1929, George Akerson entered American political history as the nation’s first Presidential Press Secretary. Akerson (1889-1937) served as President Herbert Hoover’s — and the nation’s — first official mouthpiece for a grand total of 2 years and 12 days. He would then be replaced by Ted Joslin, who served until the end of Hoover’s single term in early March of 1933. Over the past 94 years, 37 additional Presidential Press Secretaries (PPS), 29 men and 8 women, have served as the President's official voice. By way of White House trivia, Steve Early, FDR’s P.P.S., holds the record for length of service (12 years, 25 days); the second in longevity was Charlie Ross (5 years, 204 days, who served in the position from FDR's death in April 1945 until near the end of the Truman years. The first woman to serve in the position was Dee Dee Myers, who worked under Bill Clinton for 1 year, 336 days; the shortest tenure turns out to have been Stephanie Gresham, who served as the second of Donald Trump’s 6 Press Secretaries, following a stint as Chief of Staff for First Lady Melania Trump.  During her 281 days as the official PPS, she was the first and only one to hold no formal televised press briefings.

As of last week, the 38th Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia, was named to the post. It should be noted that prior to Mrs. Zacharia’s ascension, the position of Presidential Press Secretary was, for the first time in history, officially vacant; from August 26, 2026 (the date of Karoline Leavit’s resignation) until October 9 of this year (43 days), the position remained literally unoccupied.

During his 2 non-consecutive 4-year terms, Felon#47 has appointed a total of 6 presidential press secretaries, none of whom had the job for that long.  They are, in order:

  1. Sean Spicer: December 2016 / January 2017 – July 2017 (approx. 6 months)

  2. Sarah Huckabee Sanders: July 2017 – July 2019 (approx. 2 years)

  3. Stephanie Grisham (July 2019 – April 2020): Served about 9 months.

  4. Kayleigh McEnany (April 2020 – January 2021): Served about 9 months.

  5. Karoline Leavitt (January 20, 2025 – August 27, 2026): Served approximately 18 months before stepping down to spend time with her family.

  6. Katie Zacharia (Appointed October 9, 2026): She, of course, was tapped as the incoming press secretary following Leavitt's departure.

As close followers of Trump and his politics know full well, the major requirements for receiving an upper-level appointment in his administration are an all-but-total agreement with both his policies and his Weltanschauung.  Somewhat eerily, the last 3 PPSs were all blond, blue-eyed women whose first names began with the initial letter K: Kaleigh, Karoline and Katie. I guess that makes them the 47th POTUS’ personal KKK.  Like their boss, they were/are all pro-life, anti-immigrant, dyed-in-the-wool conspiratorialists for whom terms like “liberal,” “communist,” and "trans” form a triad of tumult and threat.

Now aged 412 and the mother of 4, Los Angeles native Katie Zacharia is a graduate (B.A., J.D.) of Pepperdine, L.A.’s (Malibu’s, actually) most politically conservative Christian university. As an undergrad, she interned in the White House Office of Political Affairs during the George W. Bush administration, then lived for 3 years in Beijing, China, where she worked as outside counsel for the World Bank Group.  Once back in the States, Zacharia and her husband, entertainment and investment executive Tyler, moved back to Los Angeles.  Katie quickly became counsel at Fix California, a conservative advocacy group founded by Trump special envoy (and former Director of the Kennedy Center) Ric Grenell. She also served a stint as senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group.  Most recently, Katie Zacharia spent two months at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under former Secretary Kristi Noem (a.k.a. “Ice Barbie”), where she said she joined “with a genuine passion for supporting [Trump] in his decisive and effective policies to secure our homeland, be a voice for the precious Angel Families, and an advocate for the men and women of ICE.” Not surprisingly, Zacharia also served a stint as a commentator for both Fox and News Max.  Most recently, she served as communications adviser to Trump Media and Technology Group, which runs Truth Social.

It would seem that, like many Regime insiders, one of Mrs. Zacharia’s chief skills is unquestionably accepting and giving voice to the least credible conspiracies on the planet. Within 24 hours of being named the Beloved Pouter Pidgeon’s sixth and latest Press Secretary, several of her dippiest, least tenable claims and wishes were unearthed. The Bulwark, one of the Internet’s most intelligent political blogs, noted Katie’s “. . . sordid online history of spreading vaccine conspiracy theories, calling for the upending of constitutional norms, and encouraging the president to run for a third term in office—much of which she appears to have tried to expunge from the public record sometime before ascending to her new job.

On her various pre-PPS posts on X (now deleted), she has

  • Called for the suspension of habeas corpus (a fundamental legal protection in the U.S. Constitution that safeguards individuals from unlawful detention by requiring a government to justify the legality of their imprisonment);

  • Falsely claimed that “8 in 10 women had a miscarriage after getting the COVID vaccine” (a statistic wildly at odds with actual scientific data), and

  • In the doozy of all doozies, Zacharia claimed that the abortion pill mifepristone came straight from Nazi Germany. (n.b.: Mifepristone [RU-386] is a longtime FDA-approved drug used to end an early pregnancy. It works by decreasing levels of the hormone progesterone in the body, which stops pregnancy from progressing in its first 70 days).

This past November, Zacharia wrote the following on her X account: The abortion pill, Mifepristone, formerly called RU-486, is connected to the manufacturer of the deadly gas Zyklon B, used in the World War II concentration camps. Zyklon-B was originally used as a pesticide and marketed by the German Corporation for Pest Control, now known as Detia Degesch GmbH. Degesch, in which German chemical company I.G. Farben held a 42.5% interest and on whose board of 11 it had five seats, was the sole producer of the gas. According to the New York Times, “I.G. Farben played so important a role in Hitler’s war machine and in the Holocaust that it came to be called “the devil’s chemist.” It manufactured Zyklon B, the gas-chamber poison, among many other products, and its factories exploited more than 35,000 slave labourers, many from Auschwitz. It even built a concentration camp of its own to improve efficiency.”

It’s not clear where she came up with this deranged conspiracy, as mifepristone was actually developed by the French Jewish scientist Étienne-Émile Baulieu (Blum) and not approved for sale in France until the 1980s. The corporate history Zacharia hinted at is much more complicated: The company that developed Zyklon B was eventually, after decades of mergers and spin-offs, taken over by the multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi. Sanofi also acquired the company that manufactured mifepristone, Roussel Uclaf, in the late 1990s.  Far from being a Nazi chemist, Baulieu was a Jew who at age 15, changed his name from Blum in order to fight against the Nazis with the French Resistance. . .

How in the world Felon#47 could hire Katie Zacharia to become his newest Press Secretary in the waning days of the midterm race is beyond comprehension. At best, she will take a bit of heat away from him; at worst, she will make him look even worse. Perhaps when all is said and done, what the country needs is a lose/lose situation.

Welcome to center court KZ.

What this race needs now, more than anything, is a third K.
